Hi,

Can someone tell me whether the flue in the picture has been terminated to standards please

Sorry forgot to mention that it points towards my driveway but seems a little long in my opinion

Depends on the make & model of the boiler. Some makers allow this arrangement, others don't. Probably been done to avoid having a 1m long metal sheet covering both the soffit & the gutter. Check in the Installation Instructions.

looks like a baxi flue. the ridge near the end gives a clue to where the wall finish should be.other than cosmetically i dont expect it to come to any harm other than being a perch for birds.

Hi,

Thanks for the responses. Its a flue for a Baxi Combi 105 HE. It was purchased and fitted without any cutting/shortening. Should it be cut down so that the ridge is nearer the wall? Also, are there anu guidelines as to how many mm it should stick out from the wall

Regards

ffs as you have been told Probably been done to avoid having a 1m long metal sheet covering both the soffit & the gutter.

I know why its been done! but wanted to know how it should have been done with regards to any guidelines

it has been do to guidelines unless you want it puming on you soffits and gutters every time its running. then cut it down then you won't be happy.

There in at least a meter between the flue and gutter so cant see that being a problem. The problem with it being so long is that hot water from the flue falls on the car which is parked in the drive. By cutting is shorter any water would hit the wall and not come down as much

ok doesn't look vey clear on pic.
shouldn't have any water comming out the flue should tilt back so that doesn't happen that water is slightly acidic

Its slightly tilted back yet a bit of water does still come out of of it. I think i'll have it cut to its closer to the wall to prevent the car from being damaged.

Another question, I have had a new mixer tap fitted in the kitchen, However I dont get hot water at times and have noticed that the boiler doesnt fire up when i use this tap. All works fine with bath taps and when CH is on. Any ideas?
