Hey folks, trying to fit a Thomas Dudley dual siphon to the downstairs toilet however, having tried to fit it, I can't get it to sit flush as it's hitting the inlet valve.

Is it the fact I've bought the wrong siphon for this particular cistern? I had hoped I hadn't but I can't see any other way, if I turn the siphon then the flush handle won't reach, and the inet has no where else to go.

Stumped :( help needed

You may have to get a smaller syphon then. Is the fill valve height adjustable? Maybe increase the height slightly?

It's height adjustable but it still touches the base of the fill valve due to it's width. Need to find a super narrow one @terryplumb which flush valve would you recommend in this case

Why not take the cistern to a decent plumbers merchant who can supply one that fits.
A flush valve is usually operated by a flush button ,but you can get lever operated ones. A siphon is what you have.
Is the WC close coupled ,or is there a flush pipe ?

Yes it is. That doesn't look like a new pan and cistern.
What exactly were you doing ,just fitting new float valve and siphon ?

Yeah I was replacing a busted siphon (wouldn't flush without pushing the handle loads) so thought I'd change the fill valve at the same time as that was an old style ball float one.
Thomas Dudley do a "edge" siphon which is a lot slimmer I could try that...
