Foil insulation under floorboards ground floor

Hi !

I am about to put a new floor in the downstairs kitchen (7x3m size) it is a suspended floor on joist about 2 ft from the actual ground.

I was wondering if it is worth putting foil insulation ( something like thi: http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Con...ion/Foil Floor Insulation /d210/sd2738/p23646 )

directly under the plywood that i will screw into the joists. I dont want to spend time insulating so was wondering it this will be effective if put directly under the boards ? or do i really need to have rigid or fibre insulation filling up the space between the joists?

any opinions? cheers!

You'll certainly get a bit warmer when you're fitting it. The reduction in heat loss afterwards will be complete shoite compared to if you had done a proper job. But at least it won't take you long.

cheers for the reply! I have since decided to do it properly with thick insulation. That is certainly keeping me warm too!
