In 1977, Heinz beans were 12½p for a 15¾oz tin (446.5g). Today, a 415g tin costs 75p.

In 1977, Stork SB was 26½p for 1lb (454g). Today, a 500g tub costs £1.20.

In 1977, McDougalls flour was 24½p for 3lb (1.362kg). Today, a 1kg bag costs £1.25.

In 1977, Ski was 7½p for 150g. Today, 120g costs 25p.

In 1977, Stork SB was 26½p for 1 lb (454g). Today, a 500g tub costs £1.20.

In 1977, Jacobs CC's were 11½p for 200g. Today, a 200g pack costs 89p.

In 1977, Penguins were 19½p for 6. Today, 8 costs £1.39.

IHNI how that happened!!

When I was in the food industry I met a top knob who used to run Van den Burgh and Jurgens factory in Purfleet and he told me SB stood for Special Blend.
