had some footings poured this morning for double-storey extension but then had some rain which has left about 1 to 1+1/2 inches of water on top when I looked 3 hours after it had been poured.

Builder says it will be ok, think he said it was a little bit watery mix as had it pumped in.

Worried!....Well that's an understatement!

Any thoughts?

ps. I know he could have done some drainage sump etc but hasn't.

It's not a problem. I used to work on sites in Aussie. We used to pour the concrete and then fill the trench with water to stop it drying out.

Concrete LOVES water.

Worried, you should be thrilled. Any cement products hate being dry. Dry means death. The longer you can prolong the curing process, the better.

Concrete will happily set below water.
