The time has come for me to get out the shovel and start digging the footings for the front extension. A large part of the extension blockwork is forming the new garage door (approx 2.5lm of the total 10lm). Do i need to run the footing of the front wall all the way through under where the door will be or can they be stopped where the walls to either side of the door will be built?

This will obviously save a bit of dig, muck away and concrete along with my back but it would also leave a nice area for future services to enter the house if required (and where the current services run).

Thanks for the reply. Is there recommended distance past the wall that the footing should continue or just after the wall?

Projection at the ends should be at least the same as you have at the sides

Thanks guys i will over hang the end by a foot it will still give me a large area to route services through under the door.
