Hi all, this is my first post but I've lurked for a while, I must have read every post on the 937 before committing to one!

The boiler was put in a few days ago and is working very well, my rough measurements/calcs suggest I'm getting around 17 l/min out of it at a dt of 35C, not to shaby! One question though, to turn the storage tank facility on/off the manual says turn the hot water knob full clockwise or counterclockwise. Nothing seems to happen when I do this, the 'C' just stays permenantly on the display. I'm I missing something? If it makes any difference i'm running the boiler with a Vaillant 360f programmer/thermostat.

Thanks,
Dave

A further thought then, it looks like the storage tanks are tied in with the warmstart feature so its exactly like enabling/disabling the warmstart on Vaillants other combis e.g. the 837. Anyone tell me exactly how they do this? I've tried all different combinations of quickly turning the dial back, holding it there etc but that damned 'C' just stays in the display.

I'm wondering whether the dial is at fault, the manual says i should be able to set the temp back to 50ºC, i can get to 52ºC but no lower.

You are correct about the 'C'.

You have to have the 'C' displayed to activate the storage cylinders, if it isn't it is just an 837 combi.

It is usually turned off by turning the DHW stat fully anticlockwise for a couple of seconds then turning it back to the temp you require.

You should be able to set the dhw temp lower than 50 though I would have thought.

What does your installer say about this?

Thanks for your reply however I've just sorted it. No great surprise I guess but it was just me being stupid! I hadn't turned the knob all the way back! You get to an area of resistance which i presumed was the end and didn't want to force past, keep on pushing trough that however and you do indeed get to the end and the 'C' duly disappears. I can now play with the function to see if I made the right decision buying the 937 over the 837!!

Hi Dave_h34...

I am interested in knowing if you think the 937 was worth it over the 837 if you are still reading this! (or anyone else??)

From memory the 937 is a beast of a boiler (physical dimensions wise!)

I do hope it is not situated in the centre of a range of kitchen cabinets, and that the wall is capable of supporting all that metal & water..

the vaillant 937 is imho a good piece of kit :D
but as already noted its physically massive in appearence
