Ford Focus 07 hesitating when accelerating...

Hi all,
My fathers Ford Focus 07 plate has developed a strange problem which I havent come across on a car before in my personal experience on such a new car.

When accelerating the car judders quite noticeably (I've heard this being referred to as "The car is 'missing'?" I assume this refers to the clutch.
The car is going to garages tomorrow but I'm eager to know what the problem is before that.

Missing means that the engine is misfiring. It has a misfire or a miss or it's missing are the terms usually used. It's usually caused by a plug or a lead or something in that area.

An 07 plate............Warranty.........?

Well its actually his company car so I guess it gets done under company funding... No idea if its still under warranty though.
