ford focus not starting but havin to disconnect battery

trying to start my 2001 reg focus 1.6 petrol and it sounds like the the starter is sticking on or something , actually had to disconnect battery terminal to make it stop help please

is your battery fully charged as it sounds like a battery fault.

Sounds like a sticky starter solinoid to me, could be a bad earth to the engine or low battery charge or a combination of each. Check your battery charge. check your braided earth to the engine and if they are OK change the starter.

It does indeed sound like a sticky starter motor
No the weather for it by you my get to it from above doubt ful

give the starter a few blows with a hammer may free it off

yes just a new one about a month ago

Starter solenoid stuck on for sure....be aware, the starter can catch fire if its left connected

Might just be weather related (moisture in the solenoid frozen) problem.

Just be careful if it does start to work properly, as it may happen again.
