Ford Focus 2010. Diesel engine light has come up
The guy we use said it needs a new exhust and has one in the shed worth £650
I'm not asking for prices but does this sound reasonable I've look on the Internet and can't find one for that price to be honest...
As I said I'm not after a price but £650 seems a little over to me

I guess it's a new DPF that's needed? It seems common around 80k on the 1.6 motor.
Ebay has them for around the £200 mark......

It could just need a clean out, there are various places offering this service now.
How often does the car do a motorway run?
You could try a bottle of this first and fill it up with a premium diesel such as bp ultimate (other good diesels are available)

Its worth a shot, a long steady run is better than a short thrash.
