ford fusion tdci slow filling up

has any one had this problem at the filling station it keeps knocking the pump off i have to fill up very slow

Have you tried orientating the filler nozzel in different directions?
or withdraw the nozzel slightly while filling, I used to work for a car hire firm and the difference between the way some cars take their fuel was amazing.
