I have to replace the thermostat gasket on a 2002 Ford Ka Collection and accordingly need to drain the coolant first. Is there a coolant drain plug on the radiator ? If so where is it and what sort of fitting is it please ? And any other advice on what seems a straight-forward job ?

Thanks

Easiest way to drain the coolant is to undo the bottom radiator hose.
I think the thermostat is on the top of the cylinder head though, so shouldnt need to drain the system really

But the header tank is higher and not sure about heater matrix. So some draining is necessary I think.

Whats the worst that can happen? You'll only get a bit of coolant loss from the thermostat housing! :)
