Hi ,just bought a tidy P reg Ford KA with a defunct engine(loud noises, clanking ,no compression and no oil in it) for a couple of hundred quid for my daughter.I intend to put another enduro engine in it ,the nuts and bolts bit are not a worry but will the cars engine managment system work with the new engine thanks Andy :D

Providing the engines are the same and you use all the management bits (immobiliser wise) from from the old engine, you should have no problems.

yep, as Stiv says, get the same engine and it's all plug and play.

Have to strip the o/s headlight out (which involves bumper off, inner wing off etc etc!) to get to a couple of bolts on the exhaust manifold.

All pretty straightforward other than that.
Worth changing the clutch and slave cylinder while it's all out too
