I live in Essex and i have a clay Subsoil. The base of the pond will be a concrete Raft 9inches thick, The walls will be Conrete Blocks 18x9x4 laid on there sides , My worry is the Clay moving up and cracking the Raft, what should I do to compensate for any movement . I will not be using a liner to seal the walls

what makes you think you will have clay heave?

are you about to remove some thirsty trees, bushes or shrubs in close proximity to the proposed project?

I am not removing any trees. I have been told to use clay boards, for a Raft foundation in Clay soil
