Running a network cable so had to take up the carpet by the French doors.

First time I have looked at this area of the house in detail (it's a 5yo house, with numerous issues :D )

Does this look ok as in has the build been done properly?

* The concrete is not a smooth finish. In the right hand corner it is as ridged as Worf's forehead.

* Should there have been some kind of plastic barrier at this location? I understand underlay can go directly onto concrete but what about near external door thresholds?

* There hasn't been any rain for a good few days but the carpet edge feels damp in some small parts and is disintegrating if rubbed. Could this just be condensation?

* A few bugs there so they are getting in somehwere. If they can, rain could. Should I put some sealant up underneath the threshold?
