Hi

I like to use this to make a small compressor, does anyone know how I can take the black cover off the electric small box on the side, and how I can wire it in to test it please? Hope you can see the pic Thanks mike,

The covers are usually just 'clipped on', but it can be quite s fight to lever them off. In your case, it may not matter so much if you damage or destroy the cover in the process.

Beneath the cover is probably s 3-pin plug which plug into the compressor, and (depending on what 'retraining' things are in place) you may be able to pull the plug out with the cover still on. There will probably be a (semiconductor) 'start relay' an an over-temperature cutout device under the cover.

What exactly do you hope to be able to use the compressor for? It won't pump air at any significant rate, and would probably overheat even if you tried.

Good luck!

Kind Regards, John

Been there, got the t-shirt...

The thing about refridgerant compressors is they are designed for very high pressure but a very low flow rate. I tried a 15Kg gas bottle as a receiver and it took maybe 20 minutes to reach 100psi but then continued to 600psi in maybe 2 hours. this was a long time ago, certainly pre google so my times may be inaccurate although I hope not rediculously so.

The compressor circulates gas and lubricant, the problem is adding lubricant to feed gas and removing it from compressed gas when compressed gas is not feed back to the feed gas.
