Fridge Freezer poping sound

I have an interegrated fridege freezer not sure of the model, its 3 years old. It makes a poping noise somtimes . Somtimes it quite loud other times is not so much. Only started doing this in the last few months. The sound is best described as a pop/dull clatter just a pop then its gone . Sounds like its from within, maybe the compressor kicking in...hard to say. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated thank you

Most likely ice buildup, expanding and contracting with variations in temperature - defrost it.
