Newbie here.
My Hotpoint fridge stopped working . I guessed it might be the thermostat so I thought I'd short it out so the fridge would run whilst I source a new stat. Switch it on and off manually is the plan.
Three wires at stat. Brown,white and green/yellow. So I'm assuming brown is live and white is switch live whilst t'other is earth. I've shorted out brown-white and the compressor doesn't come on.
Anything else I can try
or is this fridge dead?
