Hi all

An elderly friend has a Panasonic NR-B29SW2

Although it is supposed to be frost free, it recently started building up ice in the freezer section and the fridge part is too cold.

A few weeks ago I used a heat gun to remove 2" thick ice from the tray under the defrost heater. after that it was fine... until recently.

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

Does the tray under the defrost heater have a drain off hole. I did see what looked like it could be a drain off hole but the hole wasn't actually at the very lowest point of the tray which made me think that perhaps it doesn't drain off.

Thanks in advance.

ps. I used a heat gun because she doesn't have a spare freezer or fridge to store everything but I appreciate that a 24 hr defrost would have been advisable. I also ran the self diag test and it passed.
