Can anyone recommend a frost projection heater? It is to protect a small single story kitchen that doesn't have a CH radiator. The layout is quite restrictive for a new radiator to be installed. Last year the house was vacant and water pipe under the sink froze due to the extreme weather we had. The house is now occupied and Heating is being used in the rest of the house, but I want to do as much as I can to stop a repeat performance of last year.

As the house is now occupied a freeze up is much less likely, but maybe a tube heater would be the way to go?
Usually about 30W per foot length, I think.

you would need several day off no use and no heat for pipes to freeze unless you have a draught directly from the outside to a pipe

why not go and buy a simple electric fan heater. many of them have a frost setting on them where they will click on and operate when the air temp drops below a certain set figure, usually +5 degrees C. you can just plug it in the wall and put it away in the summer!
