on running tails from a 40 amp rcd (electric shower) back to the fuse board, what is the min size cable i can use, space is tight in the fuseboard, 25mil cable already terminate from the boards head so no space to terminate a 25 mill tail, any hints :confused:

I'm confused.

Sounds like you're saying that you have a non-RCD board, and you want to add an external RCD, and have that AND the original feed connected to it?

Doesn't make sense.....
 
I hope what you're saying is that you have installed an extra CU for the shower, rcd-protected, and have no space to connect the tails from this new CU to the supply. If that is the case, then you need henley blocks. Do a search for these - lots of info already posted.

If you have not installed an extra CU with rcd protection, we could do with a fuller description and/or pics to help further.
