I'm doing a bit of neglected diy/tidy up work at my aging mam and dad's house. Changed kitchen tap, new sealant everywhere, pressure wash path, mend broken catches...all that kind of thing.
So I thought it would be a simple 5 minute to replace 2 of the 4 G4 halogen lamps in the bathroom under cupboard fittings. But of course not.

You remember those triangle stainless steel light fittings? Thems em. Well the bi pin holes in the fitting have no grip at all, so I'm guessing thats why they dont work.

I looked in all the cupboards and no sign of a transformer.

Next time I'm going armed with two pairs of pliers to bend the pins slightly. Apart? Or together?

Will also test for continuity, but difficult without the transformer. Must be in the attic somewhere.

Any other ideas? What have you tried? (successful or not)

Can I have your suggestions please?

Thanks.

Im just looking for ideas of how to get a good contact between the lamp (bulb) and the worn fitting,

The lampholders will need to be replaced - they get hot and the metal contacts deform.
It will probably be cheaper and easier to just replace the entire fitting.
