I’ve got a building and the gable end seems to have moved about 30mm at the corner where it joins an outhouse. A builder has suggested the window above isn’t helping and the roof pushes out on the corner and blocking up the window “not needed will help.
It makes sense to me. There’s no cracks in the internal render upstairs, no cracks in the outer pointing, just a crack next to the window were the lintel has come away a bit.
What I’m wondering is; How much historic movement is “ok” and are there any other ways to stop it moving now. It’s a commercial building with a large empty room above it.
