Gainign access to seals in shower mixer

Am trying to get the disc / name plate off the front of my shower mixer (round type), to get to the valve, as the seals have worn - water is dripping out underneath the front. But don't want to damage the face of it. ANy tips how I can remove this easily; i have tried a thin screwdriver but this also seems too thick.

Shower is AQUALISA.
Manual mixer, low pressure.

not fitted many Aqualisers, usually a very fine screwdriver carefully inserted under the name badge, gently apply a lever action, once removed the control valve retaining screw should be visible, this simply unscrews and the control body pulls straight off giving access to the cartridge body nut,
