Hi All.

I have a Gainsborough 9.5e electric shower. All of a sudden the water has gone cold.

I have opened it up and discovered a plunger next to the heater tank bit. This plunger operates a micro switch when pressed with a screwdriver. I presume it usually works via the water pressure, but it's not working now.

Any ideas.

Many thanks.

Ian.

Showers have a short life. Probably the heating element that's gone.

These are a sealed unit shower so no parts are available only a complete engine unit.

But if you are handy you can strip the inlet valve down on the bottom of the unit and there is a filter inside that blocks causing the pressure switch not to activate.

Otherwise it's a complete unit at approx £70.

Thanks guys. Thought it may have been a big problem. Got a new Triton Seville 9.5kW from Amazon. Not worth messing around with the old one, but thanks for your time.
