I inherited the gainsborough energy 1000 when I purchased the house, so no destruction manual. Its been working OK, except for a glitch yesterday when it took me two attempts to get it working. But this morning.... nada. Pulled the cord and no power what so ever. Checked the fuse...... nothing....... changed the fuse........ still nothing.
With the information presented, can anybody give me an idea if this problem is solveable (yes, an electrician will be doing the job) or if the unit has had it?
Many thanks

It could be solveable, but you'd need a multimeter and a bit of knowledge to find out. First thing to check is if you actually have power going to your switch. Then from the switch to the terminals in the shower. If you have power but nothing is happening then it could be one or more of several faults. Using a continuity test may point to the problem, e.g. dodgy switch, worn out heater element, broken wire.
