Hi. We have a Gainsborough stanza 8.5 shower and over the last few days the water temperature has dropped. The hot is still coming through but to get a shower that is warm enough you have to turn it to full on hot. Any thoughts? TIA

The 8.5 kW refers to the maximum heating capacity of the shower and as it can't be increased, the water temperature is adjusted by controlling the flow of water over the element instead, So, less water = warmer water.

It's quite normal in colder weather for the incoming mains water supply that feeds the shower to be a few degrees cooler than in the summer, resulting in a correspondingly cooler shower, which makes the adjustment you describe necessary. Though I would have expected you to have noticed this during previous winters.

I see that you are new to posting here, so for future reference, this forum is called "Your Projects" the description of it advises.

Your post would have been better posted in either the plumbing or electrics forum, where folks in the know about these things hangout. But don't do it now, you can only post in one forum. [Duplicate posts are against the rules]. You may find that the mods will move it to one of them for you.
