Hi, having currently three different (1 x GD48, 2 x GD-96) Galaxy Dimensions installed at various places, and firmware updates become beneficial sometimes. Firmware is surprisingly available from Honeywell, already have one SPI-key, but no SPI-key programmer yet. Changing panel localisation might be useful (we speak Finnish here and almost everyone in Finland speaks Englisht too) or help everyday use. Question is, since all my panels are UK origin, is it possible to use Nordic-firmware on UK panel, or are there localisations on panel hardware? Does panel version (Ex) mean only language version, or some other differences too? It doesn't matter, if firmware changes behavior of armed-indicator led or things like that required per local regulations, the units are used at home etc.

The hardware is the same across language variants. Some panel firmware behaviour is different, like for some countries the panel starts to set after pressing the last key of the pin number. The menu system remains similar - as far as I can tell anyway.

Don't try to load the wrong panel variant though, ie. a 96 firmware on a 48. You'll end up with a bricked panel and the 'clicks of death'.

Also, you can flash update with an rs232 null modem cable, so you don't need an SPI key.
