I have fitted a mainly wired Galaxy Flex System but with an in-panel RF Portal and using peripherals DT8M Pir, D08M Contact and DF8M Smokes. Some devices are on the edge of signal 02/03 and occasionally report RF Loss. I have added an additional C079-2 RF Portal, but only the DT8M Pir and D08M are picking up both Primary and Backup Signal Levels, both have switched the PRIMARY to being 09 and BACKUP 02 as signal strength.
Is there a reason why the Smokes DF8M won't 'see' the separate C079-2 RF Portal? Is it because of protocols V2 and Alpha? The C079-2 i believe is the newer model with the antennas built into the board rather than a separate metal antennae attached to the board.

I may have just been a little impatient, as all devices are now showing a primary and backup signal strength. however some devices still show the higher signal as Backup, does this matter?

The signal will route from the strongest if you have not forced the assigned portal.

If you leave as default, the agile routing will always use the strongest signal path
