Galv. roof nails

further question:
by sliding the roof tile sideways along the batton from the facia as they are the end tile, would it be a problem if i scraped the galv. off the head of the nail with the abrasive surface of the tile above?

You wont have scraped enough galv off to cause the nail to rust and to cause a problem.
