Hi,

I'm attempting to connect a toilet to a galvanised steel stack pipe, the existing soil pipe (I think this is also galvanised steel) needs to be cut back and then I will connect a plastic soil pipe to the nib that's left.

Does anyone know what the best way of doing this would be? A friend has suggested using an angle grinder and then fernco fittings? What do you reckon? Does this sound sensible or am I likely to crack the stack pipe through the vibrations of cutting the soil pipe?

Much appreciate any comments!

Thanks,
Aaron

Thanks, just realised they have flexible ones!
I was going to feed the basin waste into the new soil pipe too, do you know of a suitable connectors for doing that?
Also, are they all standard sizes? I think my stack / soil pipe was put in in the 50s so don;t want to cut it back and then relais the connector don;t fit.
Thanks again for your suggestion!
Aaron
