We've had condensation problems around one of our bedroom windows, and recently the plastic trim at the top of the window has started coming loose. Before sealing i back up, I took the opportunity to prise it open further and peak through. I noticed that I could see all the way through to the plastic soffit/facia in front of the house, and could feel a draught. I wasn't expecting to find a gap between the top of the window frame and the masonary. Is this normal?
I tried to show the gap in the attached picture, and you can just about make out a chink of light from in front of the facia.

Get some expanding foam in there. Masking tape and sheet everything as the diy foam cans are very uncontrollable.
