Gap between house and patio

Hi,
Do you have ideas what I could use to seal the gap between house and patio (see pic) - that wouldn't completely block the drainage ? That place currently is a paradise for all sorts of bugs and creepy crollies that love to make their way into the house.

Not sure drainage should be an issue? i.e. should water be draining away by getting under the paving against the wall?

Where is the DPC anyway?

As for creepy-crawlies - they will come anyway, replacing the sand (or whatever it is) with mortar will do SFA to discourage them. Just live with it. What sort of things do you get?
