Hi ,

I'm in the process of partitioning off back of my garage to convert it into a utility room. The existing floor is just a concrete slab. I was thinking of laying a timber frame, insulating between the timbers and laying boards over the top. I was wondering If i should be laying a damp proof membrane? Also, I'm not sure if i should be fixing the timber frame to the floor or just leave it loose? Its a relatively small area 2m x 3m

Also, if anyone has any advise on what insulation to use, that would be great

Thanks for any info

I'm looking to follow the below for mine. No need for a timber frame and looks fairly quick to put down

That does look easier.... wonder how it would cope with a 1600rpm washing machine rattling away on it day in day out
