Hi, some advice please....

I currently have a 2 way CU in the Garage connected from the main CU in the House. The garage CU currently supplies 2 sockets from 1 Rcd and 2 lights plus 2 outside lights from the other. One of the sockets has a fridge freezer on all the time.

I am going to build a patio on one side of the garden, and put a couple of lights on the pillars (2x60W).

The current cable from the main CU to the 2-way Garage CU is 2.5mm with a distance of no more than 10 metres. The distance to the Patio from the Garage is about 25 metres.

Should I change the CU in the Garage to a 3-way and use one rcd slot to run 2.5mm SWA buried under ground to the patio lights and leave the other 2 rcd as before or take extra spurs from the existing setup in the garage????

Is 2.5mm cable from the main CU to the Garage CU big enough or do I need to change it to say 6 or 10mm???

The cable from the Garage CU to the Patio – is 2.5mm SWA big enough for 25 meter run just for 2 lights??

I would just like to know my options before I get a electrician in to do the work.

Thanks in advance…

The 2 lights on the pillars with a switch..
