We are looking at getting our garage extended up to accommodate a campervan, so need a door with an opening of about 7'1".

Given that Mrs Wobs is not tall (I'm not that tall either for that matter), we would probably need some electric opening system.

What would be best from a security point of view: up and over, or a roller shutter door?

Automatic machine guns and big dogs?

Not sure if you can get up an over over 7 foot, both door types can be secure if they are well made etc or both rubbish.

What about a handle on a string so you can pull the door down.

adding a motor should only be around £250-350 but will limit the type of door (the height does that as well) Roller door or Sectional door will be what you need.
Roller probably cheaper, I believe Securoglide are the only insurance approved doors around (I may well be wrong on that)
