Hi all

Am about to start smartening up the exterior of a house with a Gliderol garage door which is an olive green colour with old splashes of white paint from when the owners DIYed the wooden surround.

The splashes won't come off and the whole door is looking tired anyway. The brochure for the company says that single skin roller doors are manufactured from Plastisol coated steel.

Can anyone recommend a suitable paint for these up and over doors please? Don't mind whether it's o/b or w/b or spray.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

TBH the important thing is the primer, i.e. good grip to allow subsequent coats adhesion. Definately go all water based on top of the primer as expansion rates will vary between OB and WB. I have never used perma white but if the client is happy with the finish probably best to follow zinssers advice
