I m looking to convert my garage area into a kitchen .my main concern is that I have the main drain cover in the garage. Is it legal to have a drain inspection cover in your kitchen area. Thanks for any advice

Unfortunately you would have to divert or have an access chamber o/s the building.
Have a look on your water providers website as they have to be informed/permission reqd etc and the cost will knock you over if it is a public sewer.

yes you can have an inspection chamber in the kitchen, though the lid will have to be a screw down lockable air tight version.

i would do everything i could to divert the i.c. to the outside though.
