Hello, im totally new to this site and DIY to be honest, this is my first try at Building and actual building.

I have read many posts on here about constructing a garage in the back of my garden.

Firstly here are some pictures.
//www.diynot.com/network/c11rgd/albums/13270

I have been on the planning portal website, and what i wish to build is:
-30sqm car garage
-2.5m High as its close teh boundary line
-Single concrete block wall construction with pillars
-Footings
-Concrete slab floor
-Roof, not sure whats best, flat slope or pitched.
-large roller shutter at the rear
-double glazed door and window looking into the garden

Possible issues
-I have 3 trees at the back of the garden, 1 to the right, the left and the front (into the garden)
-the one to the front will remain, will this be an issue when coming to do the footings?
-Drainage? how does this work?

So far i understand i need to take these steps.
-chop down trees, and remove roots?

-remove old garage, and break up existing floor

-clear area and mark out floor plan 5m(wide) x6m(deep)

-Dig Footings 500mm x 500mm

-Pour concrete? whats teh best way to do this? and where from? how high do i need to box frame the area

-build up first layers of brick? should i use engineering bricks or engineering blocks? and how high, do i do it certain level below ground and how high above, then DPM

-then the concrete slab, 150mm total? Hardcore? sand? DPM? Insulation? Concrete? how thick each layer?

-then build up the walls?

-cross members above door, window and roller shutter? metal or concrete?

-Roof?

etc

i know alot is covered but i just want to start step by step and gather as much info as possible

any help is appreciated.

So the floor is in:

500cm x 595cm = roughly 30sqm
6 inch thick
6 cubic metres of 30N concrete with Fibres
reinforced mesh
DPM down.

next steps,

as ive built a floating slab. i am considering a stud wall construction for the walls.

not sure how to do this weather timber or metal.?

any suggestions?

You would be far better off laying two course of brick round 1st, (level & square :D) then sitting/building your frame off this. Stops the frame sitting in water and/or splashed by rainfall..
