I want to replace my asbestos cold and leaky garage and I was wondering is it possible to build it of breeze block on the concrete bace, and render it afterwards. If I was doing the work myself would it be significantly cheaper than having a concrete section garage irrected by a specialist company.
If so would water not penetrate through the breeze block.

Thanks for any advice

I'm afraid you cannot knock the garage down and re-build it without building permission even the old garage is there !! (check with local planning).
I have done this before and the only way round it,is to support the roof with acrow then re-build the side wall up to it then renew your roof but the wall will need footing etc,why not buy precast slab at approx £30 each which can rest on a 6" concrete base.

The water will penetrate through the breeze block after a heavy rain period without rendering.
