Hi,
Looking for views on the various new coverings for my detached garage which has a leaky corrugated fibre/asbestos roofing sheets with a shallow fall. ( 40x90mm joists at 450mm centers)
Seems a choice of coverings out there, from replacing with the same Fiber Cement sheets, Bitumen Sheets, EPDM rubber sheet,, FibreGlass GRP and the preformed Steel Sheets.
Wondered what method/product is the best for diy / ease of use / price and any pitfalls I should look out for.
Two other points would appreciate the answer to, on things like the bitumen and similar corrugated sheets, the makers instructions often say that on roofs with a low pitch then 18mm ply or osb boards should first be fitted over the roof joist - why ?
Though the above relates to the existing single 'flat' roof wondered if converting it to an Apex style roof be a better way to go ?
