I need my garage wiring and know theres a few options, but I'm unsure which is the best way to go about it.

The garage has a consumer unit with 40A RCD and 32amp and 6amp MCB's.

Do I

Clip the 2.5mm direct to wall without no additional protection?

Run 20mm Conduit around the garage?

Run 20mm garage around the garage with trunking around the ceiling to drop down from instead of horizontal conduit run?

In garages I run the cables at ceiling level and drop down to sockets etc in plastic conduit.

But this depends on what is happening at ceiling level. If there's chunks of wood, branch loppers and hand saws sotored up there I would want conduit everywhere. As EFLI says, you need to do a risk assessment.
