Hi,
My previous garage wiring was spurred from the kitchen ring via a FCU. There was more than one socket and lighting from this spur.
I have recently had a new garage built (so the wiring removed) and am looking at replacing it.
Can I replace this wiring without Part P certification as it is run from a spur?
I would like to replace the FCU with a 13A RCD FCU in the kitchen then run the cabling to the garage and take multiple sockets from that (3 sockets on the fused spur) plus a 5A FCU to supply lighting.
Another concern is the kitchen cabling is old colour. Can new colours be used on that spur?
Also, perhaps one solution is to replace the FCU with a 13A fused socket and "plug" the garage in therefore technically making the garage not permanent.
Advice please.
Harry
