Hello we are urgently looking for a 4 metre wide garden awning to go above our patio doors as the weather is hotting up and our flooring is beginning to lift...

We are looking at primrose awnings budget option, no cassette as that's all we can afford right now - has anyone had any experience with them?

Yes, they're very good and the quality of their awnings is better than most.
I had to return a 3 metre monster awning a couple of years ago because it got damaged in transit and they arranged everything without any fuss.

Let me know which awning you're buying because i'm after a cheap one as well for my alleyway window.
Thanks
Will do - we are trying to decide whether to go with it or not as we've recently had 50mm insulation and external render added to the walls and don't know if it's a good idea to drill through and try and fix awning onto the brick - could end up cracking or squashing thr render

There are specialist fixings that can be procured designed for fixing stuff to walls with external insulation.

I doubt it, this industry is another one just like the cavity wall insulation industry is (or was it seems to be getting a bit better) full of poorly skilled low paid workers working to tight schedules with no care for the end user.

We are thinking about getting a Markilux 990 awning now but fitting it ourselves...

Does anyone have any experience of thr manual one versus the automatic? Manual would be my preference, less to go wrong and a lot cheaper but heard that they can be difficult to operate on a larger scale - we are looking at 4 metres wide by 3 metre projection, which the misses might struggle with

Also does there need to be some waterproof membrane or anything added to the wall when you install it?

Thanks
