I want to put a Decking Kit in my garden. I have a Lawn at the moment, do I have to dig up the part of the lawn where the decking is going, and lay some Hardcore down and a membrane on top of the hardcore?

Not wishing to be funny, but you dont need to any of that if you are going to do it properly. Dont think about laying the deck frame on the ground without proper support. Plenty of posts here about decking procedures.
