Garden drainage, sock or fabric

Hi, Im just about to install underground drainage beneath my lawn using a 100mm perferated pipe. Is it better to use a Geotextile Filter Sock that just surrounds the pipe or use Geotextile fabric around the trench with the pipe and gravel within it.

I’d say fabric, it will keep the silt from your gravel.
