Hi, if anyone can advise me on the size and depth of foundation and if 9 inches retaining wall is ok for 2 meters high garden? can you include the size in dimensions please?

I guess that you wish to retain a bank 2m high - and how long will the wall be?

Read my reply in "dpm and mortar mix" on today's forum page.

please any information on: what size of foundation is required the 2m high retaining wall, to reflect the chalk rock basis of the ground.
Thanks

A 9'' wall is not strong enough to retain 2m. A wall that high really needs to be designed by an engineer.

The drainage and detailing at the rear of the wall is also critical.

The foundation would likely need to be wide in the region of 800mm but again it depends on the wall type etc.
