I have removed my old 6ft x 8ft shed of around 25yrs old erected by the house previous owner.
It was up-against the rear of my garage on one side and very near to the side of my neighbours garage at its rear, so I intend to replace it with a 5ft x 7 ft one to allow me to get around it.
I am now 72 and looking at the base as it stands I do not want the hassle of moving concrete blocks about so I wondered if the new shed was placed on oversized new bearers ie 6ft these would rest on the base as it stands leaving 1ft exposed at the side behind my garage.
At the rear would it be ok to have the bearer as shown in attached photos.
Would this arrangement be ok please.

It would but it would have to be decent treated timber and should be able to dry out.
You'd also have to take account of how the shed needs supporting.
The timber would need to have a reasonable depth so it doesn't bounce up and down.
I'm assuming you aren't going to store a lot of weight on there
