Wanted to have a go at building a simple garden wall, any advice would be appreciated - even if it's just to forget it and hire a professional!

Foundations - was hoping to just dig a trench around 30cm deep, create a level surface with building sand and then place paving slabs as my foundation. Is this sufficient or should I do I need to use concrete?

Wall - was thinking of using 100mm medium density breeze blocks, single thickness. Planning on building the wall around 1m high.

Render - wanted a white rendered finish so was either thinking of making a simple sharp sand/cement/waterproofing mix or maybe trying some snowcrete to save time? From previous threads it sounds like rendering takes practice so might be worth hiring someone unless I want the rustic look!

Thank!

You should use concrete.
