Hi
Can anyone help??
I have a hot water fed shower (not eletric) and every so often it smells strongly of garlic, im guessing it must be bacteria in the hose so i purchased an antibac hose for £25 from B&Q, but the smell has now come back. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do or what is causing this??
Thanks

have you looked in the water tank in the loft? Remove any sediment, drowned wildlife etc and fit a close fitting lid if it does not already have one.

I have a feeling you have got a hot water cylinder. Is it quite old? If you bleed the radiators, does the water smell anything like the showers? While you are in the loft, look at the Feed & Expansion tank (if you have one). What is the water level? Also, is the top of this tank higher/lower/same as the main cold water tank?

Or have you got a Combi boiler? What sort, how old, does it maintain its pressure correctly?

Test the temperature of the incoming hot water with a thermometer. What is it?

Are you sure the smell is not coming from the drain?
